지난 화요일 제일 먼곳에서 우리 교회를 나오시는 홍정자 집사님 댁에서 자비속회가 모인다고 하기에 함께 다녀 왔습니다.  예배를 드리면서 한시간 먼길을 오가실 때, 그 길이 늘 은혜의 기름이 마르지 않는 (시 65:11) 은혜의 길이 되기를 마음 모아 기원 드렸습니다.  집사님 댁을 둘러 보는데 지난 40주년을 축하하면서 30년 근속하신 교인들에게 드린 공로패를 보게 되었습니다.  한 교회를 30년 섬긴다는 것이 쉽지 않은 일인데!  우리 교회에는 그런 분들이 여럿 계신 것으로 알고 있습니다.  다시 한번 귀한 섬김에 감사가 깊어진 시간이었습니다.


Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to visit the home of Deaconess Sue Bowers, who travels the farthest to attend our church. As I thought about the long journey she and Doug make each Sunday, I earnestly prayed that their path would always be filled with the oil of grace that never runs dry (Psalm 65:11).

While looking around her home, I noticed a plaque of appreciation that was presented to her at our church's 40th anniversary, in recognition of her 30 years of faithful service. Serving one church for 30 years is no small feat! I understand there are many others in our congregation who have similarly devoted themselves for such a long time.  It is a great joy and honor to serve God with such wonderful saints!  Thank you, many saints at Hanmi, and praise God whose abundant grace made it all possible!
