부활절과 같은 교회의 큰 행사는 참으로 많은 이들이 수고로 이뤄지게 됩니다. 지난 주일 예배도 많은 분들의 열정과 수고로 은혜가 넘치는 예배가 되었습니다.

먼저 무대를 꽉 채운 중고등부와 어린이부, 찬양팀과 함께 부른 “Every Praise” 찬양은 지금도 머리 속을 떠나지 않네요. 무엇보다도 드럼, 베이스, 그리고 키보드로 멋진 반주를 해 준 악기팀의 공로가 컸습니다. 두분 반주자님과 드럼의 우진형제, 그리고 베이스의 Kenneth 형제에게 감사를 드립니다. 또한 신나는 워십댄스를 할 수 있도록 앞에서 인도해 준 올리비아 학생과 규림 자매, 그리고 이 찬양을 기획해 준 왕희진 반주자님께 감사를 드립니다. 무엇보다도 찬양의 강이 멈추지 않도록 늘 애써 주시는 찬양팀에게도 큰 감사를 드립니다.

부활주일에 올려 드린 성가대와 글로리 합창단의 찬양은 완벽했습니다. 그동안 얼마나 연습을 많이 하셨는지 옆에서 봐온 저로서는 감사하지 않을 수 없네요. 특별히 두 찬양대를 이끄느라 애를 많이 쓰신 이선영 지휘자님께 심심한 감사를 표합니다.

이번 부활절은 찬양이 넘쳐나는 부활절이었습니다. 찬양팀과 성가대의 찬양과 함께 Elton Green 집사님의 깊이 있는 성만찬 찬양까지 곁들어져 풍성함을 더했습니다. 더구나 Ashleigh 간사님과 함께 중고등부 학생들이 준비한 찬양과 어린이부의 율동 찬양은 케이크의 아이싱과 같이 예배의 기쁨과 풍요로움을 더해 주는 귀한 순서였습니다. 귀한 찬양 순서를 맡아주신 여러분께 다시 한번 감사를 드립니다.

예배후에 있었던 만찬을 위해서 여선교회에서 너무 많이 애써 주셨습니다. 며칠 걸려 장을 보고 재료를 다듬고, 전을 부치고, 만두를 튀기고, 나물을 무치고, 고기를 굽고 … 셀 수 없는 많은 손길이 담겨져 250여분의 풍성한 식사를 마련해 주심에 감사에 감사를 드립니다.

이외에도 드러나지 않게 수고해 준 많은 분들이 있었습니다. 방송팀과 안내위원, 그리고 헌금위원, 성만찬위원 등 많은 분들의 수고가 있었죠. 그 중에 특별히 부활절 예배를 위하여 백합화를 준비해 주신 남선교회에 감사를 드립니다. 이번에는 각 백합화마다 헌화해 주신 분의 이름과 사연을 정성스레 적어 주셔서 너무 감사했습니다. 또한 제단 장식을 맡아준 PTA를 언급하지 않을 수 없네요. 사순절 동안 기도와 말씀 묵상, 그리고 삶의 변화를 위해서 애쓴 성도님들의 귀한 여정을 축하하는 의미로 40개의 풍선, 40개의 십자가, 40개의 꽃으로 제단 장식을 해 달라고 부탁했는데 풍성하고 예쁘게 장식을 해 주셔서 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 특별히 이번 장식을 위해서 새가족 여러분들의 공이 컸던 것으로 아는데 다시 한번 김연미 회장님과, 아이들까지 데리고 나와 수고해 주신 여러분께 감사를 드립니다.

이런 행사가 있을 때마다 아쉬웠던 점은 사진을 찍어 줄 사람이 없었다는 것이었는데, 이번에 고등부의 Hannah 학생이 예배 사진을 잘 찍어 줘서 너무 고마웠습니다. 사진은 어느 각도에서 찍느냐가 중요한데 예배의 결을 따라 은혜의 장면들을 잘 잡아줘서 너무 좋았습니다.

하나님의 은혜를 축하하는 자리에 이런 저런 모습으로 보냄을 받은 이들의 수고가 협력하여 선을 이루게 됨이 얼마나 기쁘고 감사한지요! 부활하신 주님의 이름으로 다시한번 축복하며 감사를 드립니다. 할렐루야!

Major church events like Easter are made possible through the dedication and hard work of many people. Last Sunday’s worship service was no exception.

First, the song “Every Praise,” sung together by the Youth Group, Children’s Ministry, and the praise team, still lingers in my mind. Above all, the instrumental team — our two pianists, Woojin on the drum, and the bassist Kenneth — played a significant role in making it so powerful. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to thank Olivia and Gyurim for leading the joyful worship dance, and accompanist Heejin for planning the whole piece. Most of all, I extend heartfelt thanks to our praise team, who continually keep the river of praise flowing.

The choir and the Glory Choir’s Easter anthem were simply perfect. Having watched their dedication and countless hours of practice, I cannot help but feel deeply grateful. In particular, I would like to thank Conductor Lee, who has worked tirelessly to lead both choirs.

This Easter was truly filled with praise. The worship team and choir lifted our hearts, and the rich communion anthem by Deacon Elton Green added even greater depth and fullness. In addition, the praise prepared by the Youth Group students with Director Ashleigh, along with the children’s dance song, were like icing on the cake—bringing added joy and richness to the worship. We once again extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in these precious offerings of praise.

And the Women’s Missionary Society worked incredibly hard to prepare the fellowship meal. For several days, they shopped, prepared ingredients, made jeon, fried dumplings, seasoned vegetables, grilled meat, and more. Countless hands contributed to providing a generous meal for more than 250 people, and for this, I offer my deepest thanks.

There were also many others who served behind the scenes. The media team, ushers, offering stewards, and communion servers all contributed in meaningful ways. Among them, I would especially like to thank the Men’s Missionary Society for preparing the Easter lilies. This year, it was particularly meaningful that each lily included the name and story of the one who offered it.

I must also mention the PTA, who beautifully decorated the altar. In celebration of the congregation’s Lenten journey — marked by prayer, meditation on the Word, and life transformation — I had requested decorations featuring 40 balloons, 40 crosses, and 40 flowers. They prepared it so abundantly and beautifully, and I am deeply grateful. I understand that many of our new members contributed significantly to this effort, and I would especially like to thank PTA President Kim, along with all who came out with their children to help.

One thing that had often been missing at events like this was photographer, but this time, Hannah from the youth group did a wonderful job capturing the worship moments. Photography is all about perspective, and she beautifully captured scenes of grace throughout the service.

How joyful and thankful it is to see that, in a celebration of God’s grace, the efforts of those sent in various ways come together to work for good! Once again, many blessings to you all and thank you in the name of our risen Lord. Hallelujah!
