콜로라도 날씨가 많이 따듯해지고 있습니다. 콜로라도 답지 않게 눈 많고 추웠던 지난 겨울은 이제 뒤로하고, (가끔 동장군이 샘을 부리듯 눈바람이 몰아치는 날도 있지만) 따듯한 햇살이 그 다음날이면 어김없이 찾아오는 콜로라도 특유의 좋은 날씨로 돌아온 것 같습니다.
지난 목요일이 낮과 밤의 길이가 같다는 춘분이었습니다. 이제는 낮의 길이가 밤보다 점점 길어지는 날이 계속되게 됩니다. 입춘도 지났고 춘분도 지났으니 이제는 봄이 왔다고 할 수 있겠지요?
새 봄을 맞아 교회가 뜨거운 기도의 열기로 살아나고 있음을 보면서 감사하게 됩니다. 어제 읽은 “기도의 원 그리기” 책 내용과 같이 우리를 놀라게 해 주실 하나님의 은혜의 손길을 기대하게 됩니다.
날씨가 많이 풀리는 때를 맞춰 봄 대심방을 시작하기로 하고, 이번 심방을 위해서 몇 가지 부탁을 드렸으면 합니다.
1) 심방 스케줄은 속장님을 통해서 잡게 되겠습니다. 속별로 지정된 심방 주간이 있는데, 될 수 있으면 그 주간안에 스케줄을 잡아 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 심방주간은 아래와 같습니다.
4/1~6 (사랑), 4/8~13 (열매), 4/15~20 (감사), 4/22~27 (은사),
5/6~11 (은혜&화평), 5/13~18 (자비), 5/21~25 (찬미&축복), 5/27~31 (희락)
2) 심방은 가정 심방을 중심으로 진행되겠습니다. 가정 심방이 어려우실 경우 교회 사무실에 오셔서 함께 예배를 드리는 방식으로 진행하도록 하겠습니다.
3) 심방시 식사는 하지 않는 것으로 하겠습니다. 간식도 준비하지 않으셔도 됩니다. 물 한잔만 준비해 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 대신 본인이 좋아하는 찬송가, 성경구절, 그리고 기도제목들을 미리 생각해 주시기를 부탁드립니다.
4) 심방 시간은 1시간 반 정도 생각하시면 되겠습니다. 심방팀은 2~3 사람으로 저와 부목사님, 또는 저와 제 와이프가 함께 하게 되며, 속장님, 또는 인도자님이 함께 해 주시게 되겠습니다.
5) 이번 심방을 통해 여러분의 이야기를 많이 들을 수 있기를 소망합니다. 지금까지 하나님께서 인도해 주신 광야의 여정 이야기, 약속의 땅에서 누리신 은혜의 이야기들을 많이 나눠 주시면 감사하겠습니다.

The weather in Colorado is getting much warmer. The snowy and cold winter—unusually so for Colorado—is now behind us. And although there are still days when the winter wind howls as if the cold season is having a last burst of jealousy, Colorado’s typical beautiful weather returns, with warm sunshine inevitably following the next day.
This past Thursday was the vernal equinox, the day when the length of day and night are equal. From now on, the days will continue to grow longer than the nights. With both the first day of spring and the equinox behind us, we can now safely say that spring has arrived, can we not?
As we welcome the new season, I am thankful to see our church being revived with a renewed fervor for prayer. Just like the message from the book “Making the Circle” we read yesterday, I am filled with expectation for the surprising grace of God that will unfold among us.
With the weather warming up, we will begin our Spring Visitations, and I would like to make a few requests regarding the upcoming visitations:
1. Scheduling will be dne through your small group leader. Each small group has an assigned visitation week, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could schedule your visitation within that designated week. The visitation schedule is as follows:
April 1–6 (Love), April 8–13 (Fruit), April 15–20 (Thanksgiving), April 22–27 (Gift)
May 6–11 (Grace & Peace), May 13–18 (Mercy), May 21–25 (Praise & Blessing)
May 27–31 (Joy)
2. The primary form of visitation will be home visits. However, if a home visit is difficult, you may come to the church office for a time of worship together instead.
3. We will not have meals during the visitations. There is no need to prepare snacks either. Just a glass of water would be appreciated. Instead, please think ahead about your favorite hymn, a Bible verse that is meaningful to you, and any prayer requests you would like to share.
4. Each visitation will last approximately an hour and a half. The visitation team will consist of 2–3 people: myself and an associate pastor, or myself and my wife. Your small group leader or another leader will also join us.
5. Through these visitations, I hope to hear many of your stories—stories of how God has led you through your own wilderness journey, and the testimonies of the grace you have experienced in the promised land.
For any questions regarding the visitations, please contact your small group leader or the pastoral office. I look forward to the joy of meeting with each of you. Thank you!
